The Design Process

The leaves in the background show the transformation process.

1. Select an original digital image.

2. Upload the image into Procreate, an iPad Pro application.

3. Reproduce the image with an Apple Pencil by creating a series of layered color blocks with colors pulled from the original image.

4. Blend the layers into one completed image.

5. Export and print as cards.

Nathan Smith has always been passionate about creating things. He loves color and textiles-especially when they come together in art. Nathan was first introduced to digital art when he attended an art show in the fall of 2016. Since then, he has created a collection of cards that capture the colors and elements of everyday living. Hopefully, they will be used to connect the world in a beautiful way.
